Holy crap I was right.

Slade is from the future.  There was an accident when someone died in the tank and he figured out it was time travel.  Then he commited suicide in the tank with the chair on and made it back ro when he was in his 20s and did all this.

Barry pg 109

Barry is overwhelmed by all this.  He feels like he should just be overjoyed, but he's super worried that this isn't real.  Or even worse, that it is real but somehow Slade will see what he's doing and disapprove and take it away.

Helena 114

Slade tried to send Reed (the addict they're experimenting on) back to a memory from another timeline and it didn't work.  He just died.  So he sent himself back to stop Reed from doing the experiment.   When it catches up to them, Reed says he remembers dying and it was beautiful. He recalled a childhood memory that was awesome and he could have stayed in it forever.  He says they should have left him dead so he could.

Barry 119

He loves this life sooooo much.  He periodically finds himself overcome with emotion.

Helena pg 120 2009 July 5th

Reed enjoyed the experience of dying so much that he hangs himself. 

Slade says he's gonna time travel back and save him.  Helena says he made the choice to kill himself and he should let it be.  She suddenly realizes that she wants to escape and can't cause even if she did, Slade would go back in time and stop her.

Barry 122

Barry is better at life than last time.  Some because he remembers stuff from his previous life.   But mostly cause he cares a lot more.

Helena 124 2007 October 22nd

She goes back in time to escape Slade.

The memory is when jee-woon comes and offers her all of Slade's money to continue her research. She says yes.  I'm real curious to see where this is going.

Barry 126 2008 January - May

Barry just living his life.

Helena pg 127 2007 Oct- 2010 August

Even though she said yes to Jee-Woon, she didn't mean it.  She cashes out her savings and goes on the run.  The last sad thing she does in this chapter is goes to see her mom.  There's one moment of clarity but then she's back to being fully stricken with altzheimers. 

Barry pg 135 2010 June- 2018 November 

I don't care for the inconsistent chapter lengths. We got 1 page chapters and then this 22 page whopper.  Barry has a good second life.  His daughter graduates from college and he's so proud and he loves her so much.  He and his wife get a divorce. It's amicable and Barry realizes that in his previous life he blamed his divorce on his daughters death.  Now he realizes it wasn't meant to last.  Maybe in his next life they'll get divorced even earlier and be even happier. 

Then they get to the fateful day when he went back.  Everyone remembers his previous life.  His daughter commits suicide cause she can't get over the memory of her death.

Barry should have been prepared for this.  He should have had a plan to tell his daughter and wife.  But now he's divorced with a dead daughter again.  What a piece of shit.

Barry finds his way back to the memory building and he's real tempted to break in and go on a killing spree.  Then he has a better idea, he's gonna call Gwen and have her bring the while NYPD down on these Mother Fulkersons. But then he hears a lady tell him not to make that phone call.  It's Helena. 

Really looking forward to book 3.  I gotta remember to go to the library and pick up guardians of the galaxy.

Recursion by Blake Crouch schedule. April 19: Book One

 Barry pg 1

Barry is a cop and he's trying to stop a building jump suicide attempt.  Ann has FMS (False Memory Syndrome)  she remembers a life with a husband and son in Vermont along with her real life.  This life feels hollow and meaningless by comparison.   Barry tries to talk her down by telling her about how his daughter died and he felt similar but got better.  She ends up jumping. 

Helena pG 8

Helena is a memory scientist and she's applying for more funding.  Her main motivation is her mother's altzheimers.  A mystery man shows up in her lab and offers her unlimited funding for her work if she's OK with complete secrecy.  She accepts .

Barry pg 13

Barry is "celebrating " his dead daughters birthday by having brunch with his ex wife.  It's nice, he gets a text from a female cop that's currently a friend but was previously a drunken hookup asking if he needs company.  He gets disastrously drunk and comes to on her couch at 4 am.

Helena pg 24

Helena is transported via helicopter to meet her new boss Marcus Slade.  Billionaire philanthropy type.  He's psyched about how much money they'll make if they can cure altzheimers. 

Barry pg 28

One of the things the suicide told Barry was that her husband from her other life has a 0revious wife that committed suicide by jumping off the same building.  Barry gets the police report and in this world she didn't jump.  He knows he should let it go.  But he's too curious.  He's gonna get on a train to long Island to harass these people that don't really have any relationship to his suicide.

Helena pg 30

The whole oil rig r and d thing Slade has is awesome.  But shit get real when he brings in a couple quantum processors.  Then they've got all the processing power they need to map the human brain and isolate specific memories.  The memory chair that was just a private idea a year ago is now a reality.  Helena is gonna be the first experiment.

Barry 41

Barry goes out to Lon Giland to harass the guy that was married to his suicide in another life.  He feels firmly harassed.  Barry is sure even though he harassed the guy but good, he was lying to him.  Barry has FMS in a coffee shop.  Maybe he got it from the suicide.

Helena pg 47

They can now do a thing where they stimulate certain parts of your brain and you remember a specific memory super vividly.  Slade says it's not emersive enough.  The next step is to put it in a sensory deprivation chamber and stop your heart for a second so you get that whole life flashing thing.

Helena is now a little worried about her safety.

Barry pg 55

He wakes up on the train.  Old man asks for his ticket.  He has missed calls from Joe the lon Giland harassed. He calls back and Joe tells him all about a building he went to that messed up his brain.  Barry goes there.  There's a bar.  He is drugged. He wakes up strapped into one of Helena's chairs and also tunes are in him.  Crazy bearded guy (I'm assuming this is Slade and the 10 years since Helena invented this thing have not gone as planned ) says tell me about when you last saw your daughter alive 

Helena pg 67

Nobody liked Slade's stop someone's heart idea.  Pretty much everyone has left.  Slade is trying to convince Helena to keep going. 

Barry pg 71

He is telling Slade about the last time he saw his daughter.  

Helena pg 73

Slade has found a heroine addict to do the experiment on.  They do it and the man dies and they're all screaming at Slade to bring him back.  At the current moment he's been dead for 304 seconds.

Barry pg 80

I am never getting into a sensory deprivation chamber.   Barry is killed via chemicals and then he's in the memory of the last time he saw his daughter.  But it's more than that.  He can control his former self.  He goes running down the street after his daughter.

Helena pg 88

This chapter starts like chapter starting 0age 67.  But after a page it's different. Slade isn't telling Helena to come to the experiment.  He's popping champaign  and telling her they're celebrating their success.  He show her a video of the heroine addict telling him his mother is named Susan.  Helena has never seem this man before so she doesn't know what's going on.  But then at 10:15 ish the memory of what happened in the previous chapter floods through her.  Slade tells her that her chair doesn't let people relive their memories,  it actually returns them to the moment of that memory. 

Barry pg 92

It's all real.  Barry saves his daughter.  Vince shows up and verifies that it's all real.  He gives him some ground rules and says goodbye 👋 forever. 

Auberon and the sins of our father

 Auberon

There's an old man with a robot arm and a lady and they're talking about being concured by Laconia.  The old man is like, nbd, new boss same as the old boss.  The lady does not share those feelings.  She feels like being concured by the Laconians really sucks.

Biryar Rinttenaur is the laconian appointed governor of Auberon.   He is trying to memorize the names and positions of government folks. The real reason he was given this position over others of similar abilities is his wife is a brilliant soils scientist. Auberon's claim to fame is they grow food real good.  

Biryar lands in Auberon's capital city and there's soldiers in riot gear lining the streets to keep him safe on his first day.  It smells like shit.  It's great for growing plants, but it smells bad.  The locals say you get used to it.  I can't imagine getting used to the smell of shit.

The old man with the bionic arm is named Erich.  Could this be Timmy's Erich?  He sure talks like Timmy's Erich.  He tries to bribe the new governer and it doesn't go well.  Usually that means he's gonna have the governer killed.  But he decides not to.kill him just yet.

Auberon is very corrupt.  

Biryar's wife, the genius soil scientist finds out that her local atache has her fingers in a lot of pies and largely the patents that have been approved in the past have all bribed her.  Also, her husband is the head of the labor union so likely they're part of a vast criminal organization.  She wants to take immediate action. Biryar says they can't do that.  They don't really have the forces to enforce much on the locals.  They have the vague threat of violence,  but that's from their super advance protomolecule ships that aren't even in this solar system.  So they gotta let these people self govern and try to create the image that Laconia is in charge with the hope that it will eventually become true.

Erich is trying to figure out a way to get the new governer under his thumb.  He's got a spy in the house and they told him that the governor was arguing with his wife.  Erich thinks maybe a honeypot is a good idea.

Mona has decided she's just gonna exert her authority. She goes to IT and says she's having trouble changing things and they give her the permissions she asks for.  First thing she does is give a bunch 9g money to a project she likes that was canned by the previous administration because she wouldn't do all the bribes. 

The governer is being interviewed by a reporter.  She kisses him.  He is not into it.  This has gotta be Erich's doing. 

Erich is now talking to the reporter about her failed seduction.  The criminals decide to dig into Mona to see if anything she does can be used against the governer. 

Governor is doing a talk on the other side of the planet.  Erich surprises him.  He shows him proof that Mona is misappropriating funds.  This is real devastating for him.  Laconian honor demands that he turn her in.  But instead he shoots Erich.  Erich has that robot arm that blocks the bullet.  Erich has successfully broken the governer.  He's gonna kill the head of Laconian security for him so they can sweep his wife's crimes under the rug. Also he screws over that lady that was blocking the science that didn't bribe her and his wife loves him even more.

FILIP!!!!!!!!!!

He's on some planet.  It has giant monsters that come out at night.  They charge into their walls and break stuff and it's bad.  They don't have guns so their best strategy is to burn it woth torches to encourage it to go around the camp.  It works with one,  but another one comes and charges right through the wall to the center of camp.  A guy named Jandro jumps on the thing and stabs it a bunch.  And I guess they do have a gun in the middle of town and they shoot the monster dead.

In the morning Filip's old broken body hurts real bad.  Mose says to get up, they gotta work.   Mose used to be Filip's boss before the star gate disappeared. They're still pretending he is.  Mose makes a big deal about how they aren't going to the town meeting cause their deal with the union says they don't have to.  Filip isn't as delusional as Mose.  He's going to the town meeting.

At the town meeting they vote to move the settlement cause their camp is right in the middle of the monster path.  The next day they start moving stuff but jandro doesn't do that, he and his group of tough guys start building better defenses. Everyone else sorta follows suit.  I guess democracy is dead.  Filip isn't having it.  Jandro reminds him too much of his dad to let it.go.  so he.kills him with a bomb and gets banished.

Evelyn ch 51 through end

 Ch 51

Michael is the killer.  He killed his dad and maybe his mom but that's unclear.  The plan was to have eve l yn fake her death with one of the black revolvers he took from their mom's room and then really kill her woth the other.  They're twin guns so the bullets will match.

But then there's a twist.  She drinks evelyn's scotch and dies cause it's poisoned.  Evelyn also starts getting affected by the poison but narrator has the antidote that he as Gold told him to get.

Narrator is feeling good until the footman shows up and says he should let him kill him cause he has Anna and it'll be real bad for her if narrator gives him any trouble. 

Ch 52 pg 544

This chapter is a lot.  Narrator is Daniel Davies again.  He's in a carriage with some ladies he doesn't know. They picked him up next to his car and they're heading to blackheath.  He jumps out when they get to the carriage house and he grabs a shotgun and heads to the graveyard to go after the footman.  On the way he runs into Daniel and he tells him the jig is up and he's all set to shoot him but then there's a gun in his back and another plague doctor and it's a lady.  She makes it very clear that it would be disastrous if Anna were to be the one that escaped Blackheath.   Then the real plague doctor shows up and he's all pissed off that this lady plague doctor is interfering.   He says he's got the situation in hand and she's all like hell you do.  If Anna gets out their bosses are gonna be sooooo pissed.  

Then there's other people with guns shooting at Daniel cause narrator told them about his nefarious deeds and daneiel and narrator emd up at the lake and Daniel is drowning narrator and then narrator sees the ghost of Thomas (the boy that was killed 19 years ago in case you forgot.) And somehow ends up back in his body and Anna kills Daniel and then narrator is dead again and I'm very confused.

Ch 53 pg 570

Narrator wakes up as Gold in bed with a maid.  He's usually crazy by now and attacking the butler but because of what he did different last night as Davies he's not crazy.   The maid does the walk of shame and the plague doctor shows up.  Narrator tells him Michael is the murderer and he's all cool, you won, tonight will be your last loop and tomorrow he will wake up as the real Aiden bishop. 

Narrator tries to argue for Anna and plague doctor is like, nah she's the worst.  This whole thing is a prison and she's in it for crimes against humanity. Narrator argues that she's not that person anymore and plague doctor explains that Anna killed his sister and the reason narrator volunteered to come into blackheath was to make her suffer more.  

Narrator says come to the lake at 11 and you'll see the real Anna.  In the meantime he's gonna find out who killed millicent.

Ch 54 pg 594

Narrator is having a hard time being himself, he keeps getting confused as to what he's supposed to do and he has to really focus or Gold takes control.   He has to take some time and focus on trying to save Anna and he makes his way to the gallery in the house cause knows that's where millicent will be heading.

Ch 55 pg 598

I'm a little confused now.  It's only 7:15 and Aiden as Gold goes to the hall and finds Anna and gives her a sketchbook with his events of the day listed out for her so she can take part.  But didn't she have that in previous days?  How did she have it if in those other iterations of the day narrator as Gold was insane and attacked the butler.  Also, I thought it was later in the day than this.  Greg will explain it to me. 

Ch 56 pg 604

This chapter makes more sense now, he's Gold and he still beats the butler but he does it differently than before so the footman doesn't kill the butler like he did in the previous days.  Did I mention that the footman isn't actually part of the whole prison thing?  He's just a thug that Daniel found and paid a bunch of money to to kill people.  No body jumping needed for that guy to do a bunch of murders.

57 pg 608

We're back in the butler and Anna is there tied to the radiator.  The footman shows up  and tells him he left him alive on purpose before but he's gonna kill him now.  If he tells him where and when they can get Davies he will give him a quick easy death.  He tells him Davies will be in the stables at twenty to ten.  The footman had a thug with him and he sends that guy to deal with Davies. Shenhannegans ensue after that and the footman and he as the butler end up dead but Anna is alive and free.

Ch 58 pg 617

We're back in Gold and its late at night Anna  cuts him down from being tied up and they go to the boathouse where they find lady hardcastle's body.  The next thing they reveal is that all of her children aren't Peter hardcastle's.  They're all Charlie carvers,  the Man everyone thinks killed Thomas hardcadtle if, like me, you'd forgotten.  Then Madeline Aubert (Evelyn's maid) shows up and she has a gun.  Turns out she's really evelyn hardcastle and the impression that I get is she killed Thomas hardcastle. 

Ch 59 pg 627

There's a lot of chitchat about the whole plan as evelyn leads them somewhere further away to kill them.  They're I'm a shack and the plague doctor shows up and narrator distracts evelyn by asking why she killed charles.  She's overcome with grief as she hears the news of his death as this wasnt part of the plan.  Charles was supposed to go in with Daniel on taking over Stanton's blackmail business.  This gives Anna an opening and she sacrifices herself to save narrator. At that point the lady they payed to act as Evelyn shows up and shoots the real evelyn super duper dead.

Ch 60 pg 645

Plague doctor declares them both the winners and says tomorrow they'll truly be set free.  He offers them the ability to get their memories back but warns them they might not like what they remember and they decline.  I assume they lived happily ever after.

I still don't know who poisoned the fake evelyn's drink.

evelyn ch 33 through ch 50

ch 33 - he's the butler again for one page

ch 34 - he's an old man named Edward Dance.  He meets with some other old men.  They go to meet with Old Man Hardcastle.  They're all being blackmailed by Stanton.  Hardcastle has found he has a bastard child.  If they can find the child and threaten to expose Stanton, they can stop the blackmail.  The tricky part is it's Daniel Coleridge.  If they do this they'll owe him a favor.  Aiden is in cause he knows Daniel is him.  Funny statement du jour "We climb out of one pocket and into another."

ch 35 - narrator stays behind to talk to Peter.  He tells him evelyn is going to be murdered.  Peter is concerned this will screw up their deal with ravencourt.   Peter has never heard of this other girl.  Also we get the story that the reason ravencourt wants to get married is to squash rumors that he is the homosexual.

Ch 36 pg  359

Narrator tries to get some answers from Gold, but he's strung up and unconscious.   Anna shows up.  They argue about stuff.  The note Anna gave bell to meat at 10;20 pm is a trap for the footman.  He tells her that the plague doctor told him that she will betray him.

Ch 37 pg 372

Narrator goes to the horse place to find the horseman cause he has an appointment with Lady hardcastle.   She never shows.  But he interrogates the horsemen who tells him 19 years ago that guy couldn't have killed the boy cause they were drunk at the time.  Narrator thinks lady hardcastle must have been the killer and that's why he thinks lady hardcastle is going to kill evelyn. 

Ch 38 pg 386

They go out hunting.  Narrator is sick of being in an old man.

Ch 39 pg 407

Narrator is back in the butler.  The plague doctor is there and they talk philosophy about their failure.  Plague doctor says Aiden is changing and that's good cause he's closer to solving this thing than ever before.

Ch 40 pg 412

Daniel kills stanwin. They rifle through his clothes and find his code book sewn into his jacket lining 

Ch 41 pg 426

The footman kills Aiden as Dance

Ch 42 pg 431

The footman kills Aiden as the butler

Ch 43 pg 432

Day 7 and narrator is now a fellow named Jim Rashton.  Immediately Anna is there and narrator is not happy to see her as she was there when the footman killed him as the butler .  Anna explains a lot of things that happened in old loops.   Now he remembers killing her and immediately forgives her and they get to work trying to stop the footman from killing more of his hosts.

Ch 44 pg 442

Aiden as Jim decides to go to Jim's bedroom where Anna told him the footman would be.  He's there and they fight, but it's not great abd the footman gets away.  They witness gold beat the butler and narrator smashes a vase on Gold's head.

Ch 45 pg 455

Jim's fiance Grace Davies comes to his room and unloads about her brother driving off in the night.  His first instinct is to go after him even though he knows there's no catching up to him as he was him when he freaked out and tried to flee.  Grace gets an idea, kisses 💋 him once and runs off.

Ch 46 pg 461

Narrator decides to confront Stanton. He tells him Daniel is going to kill him and as a reward for that information Stanton tells him lady hardcastle did kill her son. She claimed it was an accident and her lover took the blame.

Ch 47 pg 476

Narrator does some investigating and sees the footman and Daniel in kahoots. He goes to the reflecting pool to investigate. Grace finds him.  They head to the house.  They run into Cunningham.  They're all friends and narrator sees Cunningham in a whole new way.  Cunningham has stolen Bell's keys.  They're gonna take all his drugs and throw them in the bottom of the well.

Ch 48 pg 490

Cunningham and narrator as Jim go to bell's room to steal the drugs.  At one point Gold gave him a note to get some drugs.  So he gets them from Bell's trunk.  He tells Cunningham what really happened to Thomas hardcastle as he was told by Stanton.  He tells him he needs him to gather some people.

Ch 49 pg 499

Peter hardcastle is dead.  He was poisoned.

Ch 50 pg 508

Narrator figures out originally evelyn's death was a fake suicide.  She shoots herself with a blank, breaks a bottle of blood and then has paid off the doctor to proclaim her dead.  But the murderer knows this and really kills her.  Guessing by replacing the blank with a real bullet.  He tells evelyn this and tells her to make nice with Johnathan Derby cause somehow getting his silver gun is important. 

Evelyn ch 18 through 32

 Ch 18 pg 179

Ravencourts man returns and he has found the plague doctor's mask.  Philip Sutcliffe is the man's room these were found in.  Nothing else he has found out is so concrete.  He found a note to the lady hardcastle saying to stay away from Millicent Derby.   Narrator thinks it's a threat.  Ravencourts man thinks it might be a warning.

Ch 19 pg 185

Dinner is quite something.  Michael hardcastle announces that evelyn is engaged to marry lord Ravencourt. Fate worse than death if you ask me.

Ch 20 pg 195

The ball is a giant mass of people.  Doesn't feel like a sincere party.  Feels like the night before God destroyed Gomorrah. Evelyn shoots herself in the stomach with a silver pistol and falls into the reflecting pool.  Very dramatic.   Now we know how she dies.  Next is to find out why. 

Ch 21 pg 211

Aiden is back in the butler.  Anna is there and explains she's not a jumper, she just lives this one day in this maid.  She asks him when ravencourt will be alone and he tells her when to go and what to do.  She also warns him of the footman.  He tells her who he's been so far.  The doctor comes in and sedates him.

Ch 22 pg 220

I'm realizing now I'm reading the big pr8nt version cause that's what the library had available and these page numbers are probably useless to anyone else reading this.

Narrator wakes up as Johnathan Derby.  He's a short tempered little man.  He punches the cook when she doesn't immediately tell him where Evelyn is.  Narrator doesn't have as much control over his vessels as he thought.

Ch 23 pg 226

He chases after evelyn's made and evelyn almost shoots him.  Plague doctor shows up and tells him he's the one that directs Bell back home .

Ch 24 pg 237

Aiden stumbles across millicent waiting for lady what's her face and says hi.  She's his mom and she's all "stop being a wierdo and call me mother " and he's all sure.  His future self stops by and has a scheme to get the footman.  He later talks to Anna and she's all, don't do that.  He says he won't but he's gonna.  She then tells him at 10 pm he has to be where she puts a rock and not move from that spot and watch for evelyn to see what gappens.

Ch 25 pg 259

Stanton wants to talk to narrator. But he's gotta wait cause Stanton is talking to evelyn.

Ch 26 pg 267

Millicent owes Stanton money.  He's gonna have his man beat up Johnathan a bit to send a message.  Problem is, Johnathan hits the thug in the head with the chess board and gets away.  Even better, he finds the doctor that's treating Stanton's head wound and convinces him to sedate said thug.  He then rifels around Stanton stuff and finds a letter to evelyn from a felicity Maddox.  Then somebody hits him in the head from behind.

Ch 27 pg 279

Narrator wakes up as the butler and plague doctor is there and they chitchat.  He tells him Anna is going to betray her.

Ch 28 pg 288

Narrator wakes up in Johnathan. His head is hurt real bad.  Someone smashed a vase over it.  He goes to doctor Dickie's room and fixes himself up.  He makes a real mess of things.  Doctor duckies comes back from the hunt amd is very upset to se Johnathan.   He talks about all the rapes he helped cover up and how Johnathan said sorry about each of them but obviously felt no remorse.  He pulls a gun on him. It's the gun evelyn kills herself woth.

Ch 29 pg 295

Johnathan steals the doctor's gun.  He figures if evelyn is going to kill herself wi5h this gun, he can put himself at the center by taking it.  He decides to snoop in evelyns room and doesn't really find anything. 

Ch 30 pg 302

Evelyn comes to narrator and says gimme the gun.  He gives it and goes to his rock to wait.  Before that his mom dies of a heart attack. 

Ch 31

Narrator goes to his rock and sees the events unfold exactly as they did when he watched as the big fat guy.  Then someone slams into him.  He thinks he's being attacked.  But he's not, Michael just ran into him on his way to evelyn.  So it's not the same cause past time it was Michael that pulled evelyn out of the reflecting pool.  This time he didn't.  Narrator feels great about this cause something changed 

Ch 32

The footman kills Narrator as Johnathan in the woods with a knife.

Evelyn ch 1 theough 17

 Ch 1: couple running in the woods.  The woman is killed, the Man gets snuck up on.  He's pretty sure he's dead. But he's not.  The sneaker puts a compass in his pocket and says head east.

Ch 2 the running man is named Sébastien. He makes his way to his house and some unnamed man takes care of him.  Assuming this is some sort of nobleman as there's also mention that there's servants and this man isn't mentioned in that.

Ch 3 appearantly the name of the other guy is Daniel.  He called a doctor.  The doctor has seen a few memory loss cases in his time.  Mostly in the war.  Memory usually comes back Ina few days whether you like it or not.  Sébastien f8nds an invitation to Evelyn's party addressed to Dr Sébastien.   He doesnt feel like a Sébastien or a doctor.  Also, h3 sees a painting of monster.  Oh wait that's a mirror.  He's ugly and is disappointed. 

Ch 4 There's lots of people at this house.  This is evelyn's house and DAniel is her brother.  sebastien is trying to solve the puzzle of his identity but he's coming up blank.  There's TONS of people here and sebastien doens't recognize any of them.  there's a guy that claims to be his best friend.  I forgot his name.  Daneiel says they won't be having a search party, but "the boys" are going out hunting and they'll try to find this Anna that was murdered.

ch 5 Sebastien has a run in with a run in with a guy wearing a plague mask and he's all beware the footman.  Then he goes tot he stables and finds a note from saying don't leave Blackheath (that's what this place is called) cause lives depend on it.  It's signed by Anna.  He's now decided he needs to be at the graveyard at 10:30.

ch 6 sebastian meets evelyn.  She decides to help him out with his investigation into Anna cause she's smart and this place is boring so doing a bit of detectiving seems like as good a thing to do as anything else.  the go to talk to the butler, but he's out cold cause he was attacked by a guy with a fire place poker last night.  One of the maids is lookin at sebastian and he's like "I know you?" and she's like "nah, but i served you dinner last night" and he's all "you bring me a note" and she's like "nah but I know who did"  and evelyn is like, ooh, that's my maid, she's bringing refreshemnts to the hunters.  So we're gonna go into the woods and find her.

ch 7 they head out into the woods.  As they're walking around evelyn is all "you're so different" and he's all tell me everything and she's all you were  a dope dealer.  You sell lognum to rich people.  He doesn't love this and goes back to the house and his room and smashes open his chest and it's empty except for a chess piece with Anna carved into it.

ch 8 Sébastien gives an excuse to not attend the party.   Sneaks out to the graveyard.  Evelyn is waiting for him on the way.  She's got a gun.  They don't find Anna but they find a lantern and blood.  They go back to the house and Sébastien finds a box with a dead rabbit in it with a note from the footman.

Ch 9 this chapter is WILD!!!  Narrator wakes up and he's in a different room.  Apparently in the basement cause the only stairs go up.  He makes his way to the front door and is confronted by himself.  He doesn't say anything. He's pretty much in shock.  Someone that knows him finds him.  He's the butler and it's yesterday again.  He's running around and collides with one of these nobles and the man beats him real bad with the fire poker, just like happened yesterday. 

Ch 10 narrator wakes up and he's someone else and it's 3 am.  Plague doctor is there to tell him what's what.  He's got 8 days to solve a murder.   Every day he'll be in another body. He does the sanest thing and tries to run away.  He goes to the stables and the stable master gives him a car and directions to the  village.   It doesn't work. Plague doctor tells him the house won't just let him leave without solving the mystery. 

Ch 11 Today Narrator is a very very very very very fat man named Lord Ravencourt.  He's gonna meet with lady hardcastle today.

ch 12 Lord Ravencourt is very very very fat.  So fat that he can't get out of a bathtub himself and can barely walk.  He goes to the library and writes a notes to the other body jumpers and puts it in the encyclopedia hoping one of them will find it and write back.  he's sick of Lord Ravencourt's fat fat fat body and decides to take a nap hoping to wake up as someone else.

ch 13 HE DOES!!!  This time he's back in the Butler's body.  There's a lady that explains the rules of the video game.  He lives a full day in every body.  Every time he goes to sleep he'll wake up in the previous life he went to sleep in.  In this case, he jumps from Lord Ravencourt into the butler.

ch 14 he's back in lord ravencoirt and Daniel is there to tell him he's also a body jumper and so is Anna.  The footman is kind of a body jumper in that he seems to know who's who and always seems to win but he doesn't jump bodies he's just himself Iverson and over again.  He tells his servant to go to the dinning room and writes him a note he's to read after.  He says we're about to have a weird day and he's gonna need him to trust him.  He tries to talk to evelyn.  She's not having it.  She HATES lord ravencourt.  She's all "if you beat me at chess I'll talk to you fur reelz" He's the fat guy losing at chess that he saw on day 1.  But mostly he's losing at that point to extricate himself from the current situation.   Evelyn knows her life is in danger but seems to be ok with it.  She'd rather die with her secrets I guess.

Ch 15 narrator tells ravencourts footman that hes not revencourt and being in ravencourts body is not conducive to running around and doing shenhannegans.   So he tells him a number of things to do.  As he's walking to prepare for his meeting with lady hardcastle he starts hearing noises abd the he hears a voice say "we'll meet soon little rabbit."

Ch 16 narrator finds the maid that the Nobel that used to be a servant here was mean to.  They chat about it and she seems to feel much better.  He tells her to tell evelyns maid that he needs to speak with her and they will both be rewarded.  He's tired after all the walking and talking and sits down.  A woman hands him a glass of iced liquid.  She tells him she's Anna and to stop looking for her.  The footman is also looking for her and so the both of them looking for her is problematic.   Aiden bishop is the name she remembers from waking up.  Perhaps that's his name.

Ch 17 narrator meets Millicent Derby, who calls him Cecil. They are both wonder where lady hardcastle is as both of them had appointments that she didn't shownup to.  They hear a noise from lady hardcastles room and go to investigate.   The door has been broken into and her guns are missing and todays page of her day planner.
